Why People Want to

Live in Wailuku

Wailuku is the capital of the County of Maui, and you’ll find the same governmental bodies, services, restaurants, and shopping you would find in any typical American town. In Wailuku town center, you will find a variety of shops, restaurants, and services.

It’s small-town America that happens to be on one of the most beautiful islands in the world.

On clear days, the view of Haleakala is particularly spectacular, with the towering volcano rising majestically above the surrounding landscape. The view is especially impressive at sunrise or sunset when the changing light and colors create a dramatic and unforgettable scene.

You are also located within walking distance of hiking trails and mountain recreation; the famous Iao Valley State Monument, named for the Iao Needle, a distinctive rock formation that rises 1,200 feet above the valley floor, is just 15 minutes away.
