    SUPPORT VICTIMS OF THE

    LAHAINA WILDFIRES

Lahaina’s historic downtown and surrounding neighborhoods were profoundly impacted by the devastating wildfire of August 2023. While the heart of Lahaina suffered tremendous loss, neighborhoods just north and south were largely spared.

Recovery is underway, with beloved restaurants like Mala Ocean Tavern, Star Noodle, Honu Oceanside, and the Old Lahaina Luau reopening their doors. The area is also supported by two large shopping centers that were minimally affected, helping provide a sense of normalcy for residents and visitors alike.

Even as progress continues, the spirit of Lahaina remains strong. Maui’s communities are rallying together to heal and rebuild. When visiting resort destinations such as Wailea, Kaʻanapali, and Kapalua, we encourage you to support local businesses, as your patronage directly contributes to Maui’s recovery.

At Welcome Hawaii Properties, we are proud to stand alongside organizations making a difference. We are dedicated supporters of Treecovery Hawaii, a nonprofit committed to restoring Maui’s natural beauty by providing free trees to local residents and helping to rehabilitate the island’s cherished landscape.

    Launiupoko

Launiupoko is a fabulous neighborhood just south of Lahaina town center. This low-key community is built on the lower slopes of the West Maui Mountains and offers a blend of luxury residential and country living. The land is zoned agricultural, so the lots tend to be larger than in other locations and come with stringent building permits. You may see signs for fresh eggs or folks riding horses next to incredible estates. You may even catch a celebrity turning into a driveway in Launiupoko!

    Whale Watching

The channel between Lahaina and the island of Lana’i is a favorite place for whale-watching cruises during the winter months. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the spectacle, which never gets old! Until Lahaina Harbor is restored, you can join cruises that sail from Ka’anapali Beach and Maalaea Harbor to the south. These cruises will allow you to observe humpback whales at a safe distance as they put on a show, including fin flapping and breaching.
